It is kind of scary that in so many ways the bible has become the less popular, un cool thing.
The media has taken over. There are powers working to keep prayer out of our schools and Jesus’ sheep are being lead (by great numbers) into utter destruction. The sad thing is that everyone is so distracted, that don’t even realize what they are doing.
At least we have words to comfort us during these time. Before I read the comforting passages, I am going to read something out of Psalm Chapter 12, that seems to me, to be a prime example of what is going on in our world today:
Psalm 12: 1-8
Man’s Treachury and God’s Constancy
1 HELP, Lord, for the godly man ceases! For the faithful disappear from among the sons of men.
2 They speak idly everyone with his neighbor, With flattering lips and a double heart they speak.
3 May the Lord cut off all flattering lips, And the tongue that speaks proud things,
4 Who have said, WWith our tongue we will prevail; Our lips are our own; Who is lord over us?”
5 “for the oppression of the poor, for the sighing of the needy, Now I will arise,” says the Lord; “I will set him in the safety for which he yearns.”
6 The words of the Lord are pure words, Like silver tried in a furnace of earth, Purified seven times.
7 You shall keep them, O Lord, You shall preserve them from this generation forever.
8 The wicked prowl on every side, When vileness is exalted among the sons of men

I love this chapter of Psalm’s. Let me talk about certain things that stand out to me:
Verse 1: “Help, Lord, for the godly man ceases! For the faithful disappear from among the sons of men.
I rarely see humility anymore in the world. A quite and humble spirit. I see arrogance and egos in vast abundance. Every once in a while I see a kind gentle wise spirit, but it seems fewer and farther in between in these times.
Here is a perfect passage for what I am trying to explain.
2 Timothy 3:1-5
But understand this, that in the last days there will come times of difficulty. For people will be lovers of self, lovers of money, proud arrogant, abusive, disobedient to their parents, ungrateful, unholy, heartless, unappeasable, slanderous, without self-control, brutal, not loving good, treacherous, reckless, swollen with conceit, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God, having the appearance of godliness, but denying its power. Avoid such people.

That sums it up in description. That seems to be our world in a nutshell. Even a lot of people who go to church on Sunday, revert right back to these ungodly characteristics, as soon as their feet are off church grounds. 😦
It is so sad. It is so sad because we all have quiet, loving, gentle souls, deep within, but we are being led away by distractions by the thousands, bad examples on t.v.’s, on movies, everywhere we go, we are bombarded with bad examples. UnGodly examples of how we should not be, but people are doing it anyways.
It’s convenient to think “I can be a better person later.” but in the bible it says:
James 4:14 Yet you do not know what tomorrow will bring. What is your life? For you are a mist that appears for a little time and then vanishes.

It is true that none of us can ever be perfect, only Jesus can do that. But we do have the freedom of choice, and we can choose to do what’s right most of the time. We will fall into temptation some times yes, but God knows our hearts and knows if we are sincerely trying.
Hebrews 4:12
For the word of God is living and active, sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing to the division of soul and of spirit, of joints and of marrow, and discerning the thoughts and intentions of the heart.

God knows our intentions. I’ll say it again, he knows when we are striving to be our best.

Ok, so back to Psalm12
Psalm12:1-2
HELP< Lord, for the godly man ceases! For the faithful disappear from among the sons of men. 2 They speak idly everyone with his neighbor; AWith flattering lips and a double heart they speak.”

“They speak idly…” To me I see this most with everybody’s preoccupation with music stars, movie stars, t.v. stars, etc. We are all about representing certain brands, and we want to be praised, like the famous rap stars, country stars. We totally idolize material things. Life is so short. Are we really only here to indulge in these “things” these “man made ideas of the world”?
What happened to God? and Eternity?
Evil has gotten a hold on everyone. Everyone is to believe that there is no consequence, no hell, no God. 😦 Spirituality, and believing in our own God, and what we choose.
That gives us the total authority to do what we want, when we want.
Sure it sounds like a great idea, but only one thing……This isn’t our world. It never will be. We were given the free choice from God, and not to do what we are doing with it,
we were supposed to glorify Jesus Christ and his sacrifice for us.
The bible has spoken many times about the destruction of cities of people whom went against God, and took roles in all kinds of sinful behavior. There is a lot of evil trickery going on right now, but it even says in the bible to watch out for this trickery , that definately seems to be TRICKING EVERYBODY.

Here’s a few quotes:
1 Peter 5:8
“Be sober-minded; be watchful. Your adversary the devil prowls around like a roaring lion, seeking someone to devour.”

and then

Ephesians 6:10-18
“Finally, be strong in the Lord and in the strength of his might. Put on the whole armor of God, that you may be able to stand against the schemes of the devil. For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the cosmic powers over this present darkness, against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly places. Therefore take up the whole armor of God, that you may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand firm. Stand therefore, having fastened on the belt of truth,k and having put on the breastplate of righteousness,…”

and here’s another one:

1 John 4:1
“Beloved, do not believe every spirit, but test the spirits to see whether they are from God, for many false prophets have gone out into the world.”

When I read these things, it is like taking medicine that takes away my pain when I am sick. All the instruction we need, is right here in the word. I’ve strayed away, but if we repent with a true heart and want to be born again through Jesus and work on being the best we can, we can all come back into the love and light of God. And it feels so good, because the things of this earth will go, and we’ve all been in love, and know how good it feels. Well, God IS LOVE. So sticking by him will generate the purest, greatest love you could ever know.

There is so much in such small spaces of scripture.
So back to Psalm 12 Verse 2 “…With flattering lips and a double heart they speak.”
I interpret that as all the charmers out there who will say anything to get what they want, but really they are only out to use you.
And the “double heart”, to me is the “two faced” nature of those kind of people. Even if that is something we’ve been guilty of.
After they get what they want from you, then you see their “ugly” side when they don’t answer their phone, because they’ve already gotten what they wanted out of you.

Psalm 12:4
“Who have said, “with our tongue we will prevail; Our lips are our own; Who is lord over us?”

TO me, an example of this would be someone who has worked their way to the top, and they take all credit for where they are in life.
They think they are almost “like a God” for using their intelligence to get great wealth, and they arrogantly take credit for all they have and do, and deny the Lord in a mocking way. I feel bad for my brothers and sisters who do this 😦

Psalm 12:5
“For the oppression of the poor, for the sighing of the needy, Now I will arise,” says the Lord; “I will set him in the safety for which he years.”

To me this is a beautiful promise, that we may be in despair sometimes, and sometimes it may seem to last forever, but there Lord has not forgotten us, and he will be here to our rescue 🙂
Psalm 12:6
“The words of the Lord are pure words, Like silver tried in a furnace of earth, Purified seven times.”

The words are pure, and they are good.
For example, say you went to prison and the only person to write you was your mother, and she said “I love you, I know you can do better in your life. I believe in you.”
You know your mother is telling the truth, her words are pure, and no one could discredit her.
Jesus loves us even more than our own mother’s and fathers. His love is pure and is never biased, favoring one brother over the other. His love is faithful, beautiful and everlasting. Jesus and God.

Psalm 12:7
“YOu shall keep them , O Lord, You shall preserve them from this generation forever.

Psalm 12:8
The wicked prowl on every side, When vileness is exalted among the sons of men.

We must be careful, be wise, and gain strength against evil by knowing Gods word, and living God’s word.
In the bible it says:
Isaiah 41:10
“Fear not, for I am with you; Be not dismayed, for I am your God; I will strengthen you, I will help you, I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.”

Beautiful words 🙂 ❤

If we stand with God, he protects us from all:
Here is another passage:

Psalm 91:1-16
He who dwells in the shelter of the Most HIgh will abide in the shadow of the Almight. I will say to the Lord, “My refuge and my fortress, my God, in whom I trust.’ For he will deliver you from the snare of the fowler and from the deadly pestilence. He will cover you with his pinions, and under his wings you will find refuge; his faithfulness is a shield and buckler. You will not fear the terror of the night, nor the arrow that flies by day…..”

I will have more discussions on the bible. For now, I am going to rest. May God keep you until we meet again. And I pray this in the name of JEsus Christ. -Amen
